Saddam Hussein
Saddam Hussein Abd al-Majid al-Tikriti was president of Iraq.
He was also a leading member of the revolutionary Ba'ath Party.
Saddam played a key role in the 1968 coup that brought the party to long-term power.
Saddam Hussein's hobbies included torturing Iraqis and gassing Kurds. His methods of torture were top class and included having
peoples toungues cut out with razor blades, breaking arms with metal pipes and throwing tied up people off roofs. He also made good use
of drills and industrial shredders.
He produced top quality torture videos.
Saddam was captured by U.S. forces on December 13th 2003. He was found hiding in an underground bunker, masturbating into a a pair of socks.
These socks are currently on display in the Tate Gallery. Saddam was brought to trial under the Iraqi interim government set up by U.S.-led forces.
On November 5th 2006, he was convicted of the charges relating to the execution of 148 Iraqi Shi'ites suspected of planning an assassination attempt
against him. He was sentenced to death by hanging.
Saddam was executed on December 30th 2006.
